""By the time I got the deal, I had learned enough not to get over-excited. My attitude was, here's where the real work starts."

Marié's latest video was put up just before she kicked off her summer tour as a special guest on the Lilith Fair 2010, and is a beautiful new original + piano dedicated to Los Angeles, her hometown. In the description box, Marié describes how she has seen people come and go in Los Angeles and how alluring, yet cruel the city can be. She explains how careers have been destroyed and have taken off, and how she met so many aspiring musicians in her teens and early twenties, many of which left the city within a matter of years. Watch it here!

Marié just attended the Guvera Pre-Launch Party in New York City, and for those of you following her on Twitter, you know that she held a performance there. Guvera is an upcoming music website that launches on March 31; you can read more about the site here. She looks absolutely stunning, and in the words of Marié, her dress is killer! More pictures from the event should be coming soon; I can't wait to see the rest of them!

Marié did an interview recently with CauseCast, a foundation that supports charities and good causes. The topic of the interview was about her views on what peace really means. She explained what she thought peace to mean as "a time in the world where you don't have to worry about being harmed for what you believe or how you live." Thank you to Jaymie for finding this interview!

"How I Write A Song" New Video!

File Under: Videos

Posted by Claire on Feb 02 2010

Marié just uploaded a new, very inspirational original song/video (it's been quite a while since her last original song video), and it's titled "How I Write A Song." She explains her process of writing songs and how her grandmother's fight to stay alive inspired her to write a new original song. Marié says she's not completely finished writing the song, but was able to come up with a two different verses and the chorus for her new song on the spot while making the video. The new song sounds absolutely incredible and sounds a lot like the folky-indie sound of "Unfold." I cannot wait to hear more songs like this one!

Marié recently attended the InStyle Golden Globes Beauty Lounge a few days ago, snapped pictures with her good friend and makeup artist, Meredith, and hung out backstage. She looks absolutely beautiful; I can't wait to see more pictures from the event. Also, according to Marié's Japanese blog, her movie "Feel" will be released sometime in February or March, and will include twenty five-minute episodes featuring the songs from "Breathing Underwater." You can also read an amazing interview by Mochi Magazine that features a little bit more of an in-depth story about the start of Marié's music career. Click here to read it!

New Cover: "Telephone" by Lady Gaga!

File Under: Videos

Posted by Claire on Jan 04 2010

There have already been some good guesses by fans on Twitter that Marié was doing a new cover of a song that, in her own words, was by an artist who's music she doesn't listen to for fun but respects her work. However, Marié surprised us today with a cover of Lady Gaga's new song, "Telephone"! In the new video, her Hummingbird makes yet another appearance, as she plays an acoustic version of the song. Don't want to wait to watch it on her YouTube? Then watch below (once or twice, or ten times). Also, Marié's currently at position #5 for Top YouTube Musician, so keep on voting so we can get Marié to the top! Click here to vote; you can only vote every twenty minutes.

Then vote, vote, vote! Unfortunately, you can only vote every twenty minutes, so voting will take longer. The contest ends in twenty-nine days, so vote as much as you can each day! Merry Christmas!

Posted by Claire on Dec 24 2009

To those of you who are already celebrating Christmas, or are eagerly awaiting it, we want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas because we will be away for a few days to enjoy the holidays with family, so news will be slow for the next few days. Take some time away from the internet to spend the holidays with your families, because Christmas isn't meant to be spent online! We're sorry about the slow updates for the next few days, but we hope you all have a great Christmas! Spend time with your family tomorrow, make cookies, listen to holiday music... and, of course, enjoy the holiday spirit. We love you guys!
